Hello, world (placeholder)

#meta#astro

A small constellation over a dark blue night sky.

This is a placeholder post. Replace it with your first real post, or delete this folder: src/content/blog/hello-world/.

Writing a post

Run npm run new-post "My first post". It creates src/content/blog/my-first-post/index.mdx, served at /blog/my-first-post/, with the front matter filled in:

---
title: My first post
description: One or two sentences for lists, RSS and search results.
pubDate: 2026-10-02
tags: [github-actions, typescript]
draft: true # visible in `npm run dev`, left out of builds
---

Images

Put images in the post’s folder and reference them with a relative path. They’re resized and converted to modern formats at build time:

The same constellation, used as an inline image.

The cover at the top of this post is heroImage: ./cover.png in the front matter. It’s also the preview image when the post is shared.

Code blocks

Code is highlighted at build time, so no JavaScript is shipped for it:

const sky = assignSky(repos, overrides, catalog, 'github');
console.log(`${sky.constellations.length} constellations`);
  • Tags get their own pages, like astro.
  • New posts appear in the RSS feed.
  • MDX lets you import components when Markdown isn’t enough.
